Feeder Hawk

12 / 7 / 2006

This sharp-shinned hawk came to my feeders yesterday in search of something to eat:

Here's what was on the menu that day:

(scroll down to see the hawk's choice)

Eastern Bluebird:

Carolina Wren:

(raccoons knocked over the
feeder during the night, and I
was too busy to re-hang it...
this carolina wren decided to have
 his meal inside the feader...)

Carolina Chickadee:

Chipping Sparrow:

Downy Woodpecker:

Hairy Woodpecker:

House Finch:

Slate-colored Junco:

Northern Mockingbird:

Mourning Dove:

Pine Warbler:

Red-bellied Woodpecker:

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker:

Song Sparrow:

Tufted Titmouse:

White-breasted Nuthatch:

Yellow-rumped Warbler:

He was a very picky hawk.

He decided to eat elsewhere.
