noun: an American author,
musician, researcher, and bird photographer originally from
Pennsylvania. His
seminal book on identifying genes in DNA has been used in a number of
PhD courses at prominent universities, while
his free photography manual enjoys enormous popularity among
birdwatchers. His original music spans many styles from new age
to rock; he has played many instruments including guitar,
piano, drums, saxophone, flute, and violin.
